The Next Big Thing: Collar Me in Paris

I agreed to join in and do The Next Big Thing blog meme that’s been going around. Collar Me in Paris is the follow up book to Bound with Pearls, which released last week. So, sit back and enjoy!

collarmeinparis_msrWhat is your working title of your book?

The working title was Race to Come, but the contracted title is Collar Me in Paris.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I really liked Bianca and Clay in Bound with Pearls and wanted to keep using them in the future books. Then Ellora’s Cave put out a call for books featuring married couples for their Ball and Chain theme. Perfect! So I decided to do a sort of Amazing Race story based off both the TV show and my own experiences doing a similar game in St Pete’s, Russia. The result was a kinky fun race!

What genre does your book fall under?

Romance, more specifically BDSM contemporary romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I never really imagined what Clay and Bianca would look like. Now that I’ve seen the Ellora’s Cave covermodel Georgio as Clay, he’s stuck in my head. For Bianca, the girl from He’s Just Not That Into You, if she could bring out a little sass.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

A family vacation, a race to the finish line and a marriage that must withstand it all.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I’ll actually be publishing this with Ellora’s Cave, an epublisher, that has handled most of my books to date. I’m really happy with this decision.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Six weeks or so, I think.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Other Taboo line books, really.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

I took a trip to Paris last year, so I was still thinking a lot about that when I wrote this book. It just seemed like the best decision to bring that experience into the book and share it with the readers.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

This is what’s called a FemDom book, which is a relationship dynamic that has the woman in the Dominant role, but in this book the submissive is also an alpha type.
