Six Sentence Sunday: Dream Vacation part 5

This entry is part 5 of 5 in the series Foreign Affairs

Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday!

This week I’m sharing from my short story, Dream Vacation, which is part of the Turquoise Morning Press anthology, Foreign Affairs. This book is now out in digital and print!

My contribution to the anthology is the story of online friends discovering they’ve each been holding a torch for the other for quite a while. They met on a weight loss forum years ago and have been each other’s cheer leader. Since the theme of the book is hot foreign men, it only seemed right that my hero, Luc, was from Paris.

This is my last share from Dream Vacation, and we finally find out why Luc surprised Naomi in Cancun.

“For you.” He lifted a hand to run his fingers through her honey blonde hair.

Her brow furrowed. “What does that mean?”

He cupped the back of her head and slowly lowered his face, giving her every opportunity to turn away. Her free hand flattened against his chest and she leaned against him.

You can read more about the anthology and get a bigger excerpt here. You can also purchase the anthology in digital from the TMP website, Barnes and Noble or Amazon.

Tune in next week when things get a little kinky as I begin sharing from my next Ellora’s Cave release, Bound with Pearls.

Six Sentence Sunday: Dream Vacation part 4

In this week’s share, Luc brings up the tiny detail that he’s completely surprised her on her vacation. She’s conveniently not brought the topic up yet.

Maybe it was wrong to surprise her, but he hadn’t been certain he could make this leap until he was on the plane. He sucked in a breath, catching the faint fragrance she wore and the smell of clean linens.

“Do you want to know why I came here?”

He slid his hand from her wrist to twine their fingers together. Her brows lifted and her mouth opened on a silent gasp.

She composed herself. “Why are you here?"

Luc has been admiring Naomi, which she takes as meaning something else…

“Are you okay?” Her hem swirled around her knees as she crossed the room to him and lifted a hand to his forehead.

He chuckled and wrapped his fingers around her wrist. So delicate. “Oui.”

She blinked at him, her lips pressed tightly together. He wanted to smooth away the lines, encourage her to relax and talk to him as she usually did.

She’s a little clueless.

Six Sentence Sunday: Dream Vacation part 2

This entry is part 2 of 5 in the series Foreign Affairs

Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday!

This week I’m sharing from my short story, Dream Vacation, which is part of the Turquoise Morning Press anthology, Foreign Affairs. This book came out in digital last month, and just released in print. Woohoo!

My contribution to the anthology is the story of online friends discovering they’ve each been holding a torch for the other for quite a while. Since the theme of the book is hot foreign men, it only seemed right that my hero, Luc, was from Paris. I might should have mentioned last week that Naomi and Luc met via an online weight loss forum, thus the comments about weight and body transformation are, on both sides, victorious rather than derogatory.

In last week’s share, Luc is getting his first in person look at his friend. He’s still admiring her.

Now, the weight had fallen away to reveal perfect curves. She wore a conservative, white dress with a full skirt that went to her knees and a blue sweater. She didn’t try to tempt, but she was his reason for being in Mexico.

“Luc?”

He shook his head. “Oui, pardon.”

Six Sentence Sunday: Dream Vacation part 1

This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series Foreign Affairs

Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday!

This week I’m sharing my first snippet from my short story, Dream Vacation, which is part of the Turquoise Morning Press anthology, Foreign Affairs. This book came out in digital last month, and print this week. Woohoo!

My contribution to the anthology is the story of online friends discovering they’ve each been holding a torch for the other for quite a while. Since the theme of the book is hot foreign men, it only seemed right that my hero, Luc, was from Paris.

So without any further ado, here is my offering for this Sunday.

The bathroom door opened.

“Ready.”

He turned and stopped. It was hard to see the woman in the photographs she’d posted in her Journey Journal from when they’d first met. She’d been beautiful even then. The way she looked into the camera invited you to smile along with her. It was what had first drawn him to her.

Six Sentence Sunday: Under His Skin

This entry is part 13 of 13 in the series Under His Skin

Welcome back to Six sentence Sunday! I’m doing the last share from my July release, Under His Skin. This book is part of the Ellora’s Cave Pricked series, and is the first book in what I hope will be a really cool series all about a team of tattoo artists. Check back for more information about the book and the rest of the series!

Our heroine, Pandora, is getting ready for a tattoo competition and has just had a verbal confrontation with the man you might consider her arch-nemesis.

How had she endured being engaged to him? The memories alone had a cold sweat breaking out along her hairline and down her spine.

She rubbed her fingers over the scars on her left palm. She’d been weak once. Never again.

“Dude, you’ve got balls.” Kellie’s voice brought her out of the dark memories.

And that’s it. Tune in next week when I’ll begin a short series of shares from my contribution to an anthology featuring hot foreign guys!

You can pre-order Under His Skin at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or go pick it up at Ellora’s Cave. I just got news that it will be up for purchase in print sometime in October!!!

A woman who doesn’t believe she deserves love…

Toe-curling kisses and enough sex to fill a weekend were all Pandora wanted from a fling with her teenage crush. She’s never forgotten how he played the knight in shining armor to her damsel in distress. She’s ready to say thank you in several naughty ways, so long as she can walk away when it’s over with her heart intact.

A man moving on from tragedy…

Brian has no intention of allowing the feisty tattoo artist to leave him after one taste. He hasn’t had enough of her inked curves. The packaging might have changed, but Pandy is the woman he hasn’t been able to excise from his memory. He’s ready to put together a new life, one that includes her. But he’s not the only one vying for her attention. Someone else wants her, dead or alive.

Six Sentence Sunday: Under His Skin

Welcome back to Six sentence Sunday! I’m sharing from my recent release, Under His Skin. This book is part of the Ellora’s Cave Pricked series, and is the first book in what I hope will be a really cool series all about a team of tattoo artists. Check back for more information about the book and the rest of the series!

Our heroine, Pandora, is getting ready for a tattoo competition and an unwelcome blast from the past.

She didn’t know if she wanted to throw something at him or run away and hide. “Fuck you, Rob.”

“You already did.” He winked at her and strode off through the crowd.

Taking a deep breath, she released her death grip on Kellie’s chair, not sure when she’d grabbed it in the first place. She would never go back to being Robert’s shop bitch, and she would die before she took his engagement ring back. It was a promise she’d made herself.

And that’s the share this week.

You can pre-order Under His Skin at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or go pick it up at Ellora’s Cave on July 20th.

Our heroine, Pandora, is getting ready for a tattoo competition and an unwelcome blast from the past is ready for a little trash talk.

Behind her, the two tattoo machines stilled. Autumn sat frozen on their front display table, her skirt hiked up enough to show off the top of her stockings.

“Show me up?” Robert laughed and slapped his thigh. “That’s a good one, little girl. Do yourself a favor and come back to being my shop girl. Maybe I’ll let you climb my ladder.” He leered at her, and it was all she could do not to flinch away from the imagined caress.

And that’s the share this week.

Our heroine, Pandora, has arrived at the booth for the shop she works for at a tattoo convention, and is getting ready for a tattoo competition, only she’s second guessing herself.

Inside she panicked. She had an hour before they set up their machines on the stage. An hour and a half before they selected their clients and did consultations. Two hours before they were supposed to begin drawing and inking the tattoos. She still had an hour to back out.

“Going to drop out, Pandora?”

And that’s the share this week.

You can pre-order Under His Skin at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or go pick it up at Ellora’s Cave on July 20th.

Our heroine, Pandora, has arrived at the booth for the shop she works for at a tattoo convention, but she’s not going to have quite as much time to relax as she thought she would.

“Pandora Hatley?”

She turned, eyeing the man sporting a Staff shirt and clipboard. Her blood pressure had to be through the roof by now. “Yeah?”

“We’re getting everyone together in the green room.” He motioned over his shoulder. “Come with me?”

And that’s the share this week.
