Loved the post and the excerpt, Regina! The interaction between Hamilton (hee!) and Quinn is lovely and tension-filled in a good way.

As for tattoos, I don’t have any and am not sure I’d know what to get even if I got gumption to go for it. I’m not terribly decisive even about less permanent things, and it’d be hard to choose something that truly becomes a part of your skin 🙂 I’d want it to be meaningful and beautiful, and I’m not sure what I’d want to inscribe so indelibly…

I would love to win this book – the excerpt really made me want to read more!

I have 4 tattoos so far, 1 of which is my BFF’s initials (we’ve been besties for 20 years and counting), and 3 of which are from books.

My favourite one is the sigul of Arthur of Eld from Stephen King’s Dark Tower series, which I got on the back of my left hand (near my thumb). It’s not just a reminder of the books I love, it’s a tribute to one of my favourite authors and – most importantly – my reminder to myself that I’m a writer too, so I need to take courage and just WRITE.

I have always wanted a tattoo, it has just been the issue of what to get. I have finally decided on a pattern of stars that go from my ‘tramp stamp’ spot 🙂 up my side and curl around on my shoulder. It’s going to be in black and white, with a few filled in with colour.
I’m really excited, i’ve just got to pick the place now.

Hey Dani!

I don’t think you should rule it out! I think I’d go for something small, maybe a simple abstract line design in an easy-to-keep-clean place, like on the belly, hip, or upper thigh.
If you’re diligent about upkeep and take your vitamins, it just might work! That or you can just carry a black sharpie around to draw one on whenever you like 🙂 Hey, it works!!

I have pale skin that doesn’t heal well so have always been afraid to get a tatoo but find them SO sexy. Love big bold tribal stuff (B&W are my favorites)that cover ripped male arms and chests. Each of my three kids have at least one and I was so jealous that I went with them so I could at least watch…LOL.

I think book tattoos are awesome. Maybe a favorite quote from a book, or even just a teetering stack of them and the words “never too many”? Possibilities there!

And hi to the second Laura!!
The lower back isn’t that painful of a place, unless you’re super thin. The more fat you have to cushion the needles, the better! The most painful part will be right over the spine, but even that isn’t that bad. But if you’re really lean, you may want to think about a place with more muscle and less bone.

I dont have a tattoo,but my husband just recently got his first tattoo. I found it to be really sexy. In have one that I want to get,but Im too much of chicken. He wants me to get it on my lower back.

Mariann, I’m glad you left! My tattoo place is cleaner than my doctor’s office. You don’t want any ink from a place that’s not hygienic! Don’t be too afraid of the pain. It’s not so bad, depending on placement. It mostly just feels like a rough towel over a sunburn.

Ruby, I want you to have it!!! 😀 My piuthar tattoo is on my lower back. I got it in 2003, I think. I love my tramp stamp, and SNL can suck it!!! Lol. 🙂

Jen, I have a foot tattoo too!! I love shamrocks. I think it’s cool that you make your own luck. Good for you!!

I have always loved tattooed but wasnt until my 30’s tip I got my first. My fave of the three I have ids the beautiful green shamrock on my foot. Whenpeople ask why not a for leaf clover I just tell them luck is for losers!
