I think a big part of it, too, is learning that it’s perfectly valid to walk away from the wrong person. And a big part of learning how to tell that’s the wrong person is learning what “right” means for us individually. Then, of course, there’s learning how to ask, a whole other tough skill set. It’s a slow process, which is where that horrible patience thing comes into play. Someday…is hard to think about.
