So I’ve never been the kind of girl that wears heels all day and all night. I wear them, but not all the time. I knew going into the fall that I really wanted to wear heels to the conferences, both reader/author conferences and work conferences I’ll be attending.
So I figured, what do you do when you want to build up muscle? You work out!
Shouldn’t conditioning yourself to wear comfortable heels for long periods of time be the same thing?
Note that I said comfortable heels. Ones that don’t bend your foot at unnatural angles when you put them on or make you stand on tip toe. Though I do wear them, just not a lot. I don’t have the patience for shoes I have to stand in one place and look pretty in.
My goal the last two weeks has been to wear heels for five days a week, eight hours a day. Pretty much when I’m at work, plus a little here and there. I tweet about it with the #HeelCamp hash tag. I figure if I’m doing something this silly, I’m going to go all the way and make it a fun. I figure I will up my goal from five to seven days in another two weeks, and be wearing heels everywhere by the end of July.
And that’s Heel Camp!
