Hello BDSM Blog Hoppers! I now have this very odd mental picture of grasshoppers in leather… let’s pretend that never happened, okay? I happened into the blog hop through a friend. They heard about it and linked me to it, and I have to say, I think this is a fantastic idea. With the prominence of the 50 Shades of Gray trilogy and the upcoming movie, there’s a lot of misinformation flying around out there about what is and is not kink.
In our instance, kink is defined as… –a person’s unusual sexual preference.
That’s a pretty broad definition, and it means that almost anything can be a kink. You like a certain kind of music on when you’re in the bedroom? Potential kink territory. You like to be put in a vacuum bed, have electrodes attached to your body and be shocked as part of intercourse? Kink territory. Basically, kink and BDSM are broad, very far reaching umbrellas that include a lot of “stuff” and people groups. Chances are, if you’re a self-described “vanilla” person reading this–you have kinky friends and aren’t aware of it. I used to have a very narrow view of what qualified as kink. 1) There had to be power exchange. 2) Dungeons or dungeon equipment had to be involved. 3) Protocols were a must. And my list went on. It was pretty silly and thankfully didn’t last long. This was in part because I attended some amazing BDSM 101 classes in my area, but also because I had several conversations with friends who prefer a “kink light” or “sugar kink” in their lives. My qualification list eliminated their obvious kinky desires–and that’s just not okay. Who am I to be a gate keeper for who can and cannot be into BDSM? There are no BDSM Police. There isn’t a goon squad who will break down your door and tell you that you’re handcuffing your partner wrong. BDSM, like anything else in our lives, can be tailored to taste. You don’t have to go to a dungeon. You don’t have to fly your kink flag at munches or on-line. You can be quietly kinky, enjoy a feather tickler and blindfold as your deviant sexual behaviors–and still be part of the club. Here. Have a piece of kink cake and pull up a seat. There’s a lot to talk about over the next week as part of the BDSM Blog Hop, and you’re going to need some refreshments. I’ll be back with some more kink lov’en blogs in the next few days. For my first giveaway, I’m offering a copy of Picture Her Bound, my first Bayou Bound book.

Love the whole deal about your original narrow minded list changing.

I think it’s good to change, and especially to admit when you were wrong. About this? I was very wrong. Maybe me admitting it will help others come to term with it as well? Hey, I can hope.

Interesting post
It’s great to read another stop on this blog hop that is more than just book promotion for BDSM! Thanks for keeping in the spirit of what the hop was intended!!
XOXOX,

Each to their own, IMHO, I won´t say anything about what my neighbor does in his bedroom, go as kinky as he wants, and I expect the same courtesy. =) Kink away!
That´s why I love all the kinky books out there, you can find almost anything, and lots that caters to your own cravings.
Love your hop stop! =) Happy Wednesday!

Very good post. It explains a lot. I had fixed ideas about BDSM that were not true. I though I was practicing safe sex. I would wash my hands before jerking off, lol your book sounds good.
I love my kinky books and am always looking for more and new authors.
