So, you might have noticed that I went to go see the band, Dropkick Murphys, on Monday night with my friend Suzan. Yesterday I did a blog recap, and today I thought I’d subject everyone to looking at thirteen blurry camera pictures of the band. Enjoy!
This is the opening act, The Mohones. They are the ones that had the sexy accordion playing chick. They play some awesome, gravely sounding Irish punk inspired music.
This is Frank Turner, a UK band that was really awesome. I’ve been playing them on repeat the last few days!
This is my first picture of the band. No, it’s not that great, but it was pretty awesome. You can see the backdrop and the kick drum with the Bruins logo on it.
Really grainy picture of the lead singer. Random fact? Either someone pretended to be him, or I really was pen pals with the lead singer for a period of time when I was thirteen.
Nice, fuzzy picture of the drunk kit and the Boston Bruin’s logo. For those who don’t know why this is a big deal, the Bruins are a hockey team. They also won the Stanley Cup last year. Dallas also happened to beat them this season playing a bunch of farm team players, so this is both cool and amusing.
Another picture of the whole stage. I couldn’t get a lot of up close, nice shots, so most of them are like this. I’m beginning to think I don’t have thirteen pictures that are different enough to fill a Thursday 13, lol!

The band’s bagpipe player!
They did a really cool unplugged kind of section where everyone sat on stools and they did some songs. Very cool.
They finished the set by having guys mob the stage and mosh around and stuff. It was a little crazy, and I was honestly worried for the band at points, but it was cool.
So that’s it. Not quite thirteen blury pictures, but thanks for humoring me!
Great pix. I think Frank Turner played at the Bumbershoot music festival last Labor Day. I heard some of their tracks on KEXP and they were good enough to almost get me down there – and when you’re my age, a band has to be REALLY good to face that kind of crowded scene. And when my youngest sister was 13, she was penpals with the lead singer of a punk band called the Green Pajamas. And that was back in the day when “penpal” meant actual pen and paper.

OMG, that was an awesome night. I’m a little disappointed that there were no hot guys moshing on the stage, but I can be okay with it, because the hot ones stayed where we were standing.
Also? Frank Turner and the Mahones have made a lifelong fan in me. Loved their music.
