Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Caught in Crimson Release Celebration blog tour! Don’t forget, there are lots of great prizes to be won, so read, comment, enter, and share!
Firstly, I have to give super, groveling, kissy thanks to the beauteous Sidney Bristol for agreeing to host me. She’s an awesome writer, a kickass person, and I want to be her when I grow up. J
Today kicks off some of the super cool inside stuff about Caught in Crimson’s characters. Over the next several days, you’ll get to know a bit about the principal characters in the first book of the Spellbinding series. Ready? Great!
Since Sidney’s a kickass chick, I thought it only right that another kickass chick get intro’d on her blog.
Character Spotlight: Delia Oaks
In the world of Spellbinding, witches are incredibly powerful beings that, unbeknownst to humankind, keep the world from falling into Darkness. Each witch is affiliated with a particular color. Today, you’ll meet your first red witch, Delia Oaks.
Red witches get their power from sex. If they don’t boff regularly, their power runs out, leaving them weak, exhausted, and powerless to fight evil until their tanks are filled again.
Delia has a familiar. A cream-colored miniature poodle named Lugh. Don’t worry, you’ll get to meet him in a couple of days. Lugh is Delia’s best friend, the only family other than the coven that she can really claim.
Delia lost her mother to the Darkness, and ever since then she’s felt driven to find a stable relationship. But it’s difficult to explain that she can’t have sex with someone three times without binding them to her for eternity. And she can’t go without sex, or the Darkness that she has to help fight could overcome her coven.
What’s a girl to do?
How about a little Q&A with Delia? My favorite questions come from Inside the Actor’s Studio. Let’s go!
1. What is your favorite word?
Fuck. I say it a lot.
2. What is your least favorite word?
Consort. The concept is terrifying, especially since I haven’t met any consorts that weren’t complete tools.
3. What turns you on?
Everything. One of the perks of being a red witch.
4. What turns you off?
Being controlled.
5. What sound do you love?
Lugh’s psychic nagging. Holy shit, don’t tell him that. He’ll never let me live it down.
6. What sound do you hate?
Lugh’s psychic nagging. Yeah. It goes both ways. Fuzzy little bastard.
7. What is your favorite curse word?
Again, fuck. 🙂
8. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I guess I’d like to paint, or maybe write. Something creative. Making something beautiful sounds soothing to me.
9. What profession would you not like to do?
High Priestess of the coven. Damn, that’s a lot of responsibility. Ravenna does a great job. Whoever comes after her has some large shoes to fill.
10. If you could say one thing to your mother right now, what would it be?
I miss you and I love you. Also, tell me what I need to look for in a consort, because right now I have no freaking clue.

Thank you, Cassie!! I really hope you enjoy it. 🙂
Nice post, I’m glad I got to hear some more from Delia’s point of view. 🙂
Hiya Sara!
The next couple of days will be all about different characters. You ESPECIALLY don’t want to miss Sunday’s post, starring Lugh. I’ll admit, he’s my favorite. 😉
