Six Sentence Sunday: Dream Vacation part 4

This entry is part 4 of 5 in the series Foreign Affairs

Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday!

This week I’m sharing from my short story, Dream Vacation, which is part of the Turquoise Morning Press anthology, Foreign Affairs. This book is now out in digital and print!

My contribution to the anthology is the story of online friends discovering they’ve each been holding a torch for the other for quite a while. They met on a weight loss forum years ago and have been each other’s cheer leader. Since the theme of the book is hot foreign men, it only seemed right that my hero, Luc, was from Paris.

In this week’s share, Luc brings up the tiny detail that he’s completely surprised her on her vacation. She’s conveniently not brought the topic up yet.

Maybe it was wrong to surprise her, but he hadn’t been certain he could make this leap until he was on the plane. He sucked in a breath, catching the faint fragrance she wore and the smell of clean linens.

“Do you want to know why I came here?”

He slid his hand from her wrist to twine their fingers together. Her brows lifted and her mouth opened on a silent gasp.

She composed herself. “Why are you here?"

You can read more about the anthology and get a bigger excerpt here. You can also purchase the anthology in digital from the TMP website, Barnes and Noble or Amazon.
