I’m very excited to announce that I’m going to have a science-fiction romance out later this year from Lyrical Press. It’s a Christmas story, so I would imagine saying to expect a November/December release date wouldn’t be over-stepping my bounds. In a way this is a return to what I used to write. As a kid, the first book I ever wrote in 4th grade was Predator fan-fic, in long hand, on over six hundred pieces of wide-ruled paper. What I wouldn’t give to still have that document!
Currently this book is called A Kiss for a Cure. I routinely forget the first "a" in there, so if I say Kiss for a Cure, please forgive me. I usually just call this book Sharks — IN SPACE, because that’s what it is. There are sharks, and they’re in space, and shenanigans of the romance variety occure.
If you’ve read the blog recently, you’ve probably seen my post about my Book Bracelet. Well, I purcahsed a sterling silver Great White charm about a month ago on the off chance I would sell this book. Yesterday I got to put it on my bracelet! It’s longer than the other charms, but that’s okay. It looks like the shark is suspended in tonic imobility. Animal Planet & Shark Week fans know what I’m talking about! Whites and TI both have a role in this book. 😉
It’s become a bit normal for me to turn around and thank the people who helped this book into being. As always, Team Awesome helped me a lot. Especially Ally and Jodie who took on the brunt of critiquing and helping me with it. I have some great cheerleaders that have been excited about this book and my ideas for it from the beginning, so to all of the Divas and WriteChat regulars, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your encouragement and help. I am by no means a one person act. Everything I do is accomplished only because of the people I’ve surrounded myself with that keep on pestering me. Here’s to a lot more grumblings from me. Maybe someday I’ll buy you all a nice cattle prod to get my butt into a higher gear.
