Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday! The last few weeks I’ve shared the opening lines of my next book with Ellora’s Cave, Personal Adventures. It releases later this month, May 18th. I’m super excited! You can find out all of the release information on the book page. Today I want to share the next six lines. If you missed the previous shares, pop over and read those lines before this week’s installment.
Elise turned to gaze out of the shed at the Arkansas River. “I think they got remarried in Vegas. Does it sound bad if I say I don’t care anymore?”
“No,” he said quickly. He didn’t know much about her family, she rarely talked about them, but what he knew didn’t speak of weekends spent making cookies or snuggling by the fire while the snow blanketed the ground.
And there you have it.
It makes me wonder what exactly is going on with her family, and makes me suspect it’s not good. Intriguing six!
A lot is going on with her family. I will say that I felt bad for writing a family that dysfunctional.

Sounds like she needs a new family and he has one to offer. I hope so anyway. 🙂

They both have odd families, but Carey got the better slice of the pie, I agree!

Uh oh. This doesn’t sound like a great background for her. 🙁
I know! I feel bad for writing it. 🙁

I wonder why she doesn’t talk about her family? Does she have something to hide from him? Good six, Sidney!
Aww, poor Elise. Good thing she’s got Carey. 🙂
