Welcome back to Six Sentence Sunday! The last three weeks I’ve shared the opening lines of my next book with Ellora’s Cave, Personal Adventures. Today I want to share the next six lines. If you missed the previous three shares, pop over and read those lines before this week’s installment.
If she said no, if Elise wasn’t interested, their friendship would never be the same. But he was getting too old to waste his time. Turning thirty hadn’t been so bad, but something about turning thirty-one at the beginning of the summer had done a number on him. He wasn’t a kid anymore, and he needed to man up and ask her out.
Squeezing his eyes shut, he sucked in a deep breath of the fresh air perfumed with all the scents of a Rocky Mountain autumn. He’d been here two years.
And there you have it.
Thirty-one was a tough one for me, too.
Nice six, Sidney. I really feel for him, wanting to make a move but afraid to screw up what he has by doing it.

What’s crazy is that I picked 31 randomly (It’s no secret I’m still in my 20’s) and I’ve had that comment so many times!! Guess I did something right?

Good job, Sidney. He’s adorable. Makes me want to comfort him. π
LoL! Carey would be a fun one to comfort. I’d volunteer for the job myself.

Turning 31 and 41 was okay but 51 sucks. π Poor guy. I hope he gets lucky before he’s too old.

Well, the book does have a Happily Ever After feel to it, in my opinion, but I’ll leave the final call up to my readers. π

I like the depth you’re creating for the hero. Nicely done.

I like a wise man. Ha! Let’s just hope he’s doing it all for the right reasons. Looking forward to reading this to find out! Love the book cover — steamy!
