#ROW80 is A Round of Words in 80 Days. It’s a quarterly writing challenge where you define your personal goals and blog each week about your progress. It’s made to be flexible and allow for tweaking.
This last Monday kicked off the next Round of Words in 80 Days, which is one of the challenges I really enjoy participating in. I’m actually a big fan of setting goals for anything and everything, be that writing, cleaning, chores, shopping — you name it and I probably have goals for it. Seriously.
My latest goal organizing tool is an ap and web based program called Todoist, which is essentially a really functional to-do-list tool. I have it organized out by books and categories of my life, all to keep things organized and rolling forward.
I’ve said it before, but I’m really motivated by the ability to scratch things off my lists. There’s a sense of accomplishment that comes with the act which pushes me to do something else. Heck, I’ll even do something, add it to the list just so I can scratch it off. Yes, I am that person.
But that method doesn’t work for everyone, and I understand that. We all have to figure out what works for us. Which is one reason #ROW80 works so well because it is versatile. The challenge is built around the idea that writers have other things going on as well. It lets you set goals for anything and everything. I’ve had health goals, social goals and writing goals all captured under one heading.
This time around, it’s pretty simple. I want to work on my third So Inked book, titled His Marriage Bargain. I’m almost through the first third of the book and I’m so excited! I made the decision this time around that I’m only focusing on the one project, just because the book is so big and there’s more than just the hero and heroine’s story to manage. I love this series, and I hope that readers will love the second book releasing next month as much as I do. I’m starting to think I should blog about series and planning for that, but I’ll tackle it another time.
